On 7th February 2024 a Grant Agreement was signed between the European Funds Unit, as the Managing Authority of the Home Affairs Funds, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the Beneficiary, for the joint funding of the “Enhance administrative capacity of Diplomatic Missions” project.

The project aims to strengthen the Consular Departments of the Diplomatic Missions of the Republic of Cyprus (RoC) by employing security guards and on-site and seasonal staff. Additionally, it aims to strengthen the Schengen Department by employing personnel. The project is integrated within the context of the efforts made by the RoC to join the Schengen area by fully complying with the respective European acquis and supporting the common entry visa policy.

The project is implemented within the framework of the Border Management and Visa Instrument (BMVI), through the joint funding by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus.
