A Grant Agreement was signed on 5th March 2024 between the European Funds Unit of the Ministry of Interior, as the Managing Authority of the Internal Security Fund, and the Cyprus Fire Service, as the Beneficiary, for the implementation of the project titled “Trainings and Equipment for countering CBRN-E threats”, which is jointly funded by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus.

The project objective is the supply of special equipment for the detection, identification and/or tracing of dangerous materials, as well as the training of First Responders (members of the Cyprus Fire Service), with the aim to effectively manage and respond to threats and/or cases related to a potential use of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive Substances (CBRN-E).

The project is implemented within the framework of the Internal Security Fund, and it is jointly financed by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus.

The total budget is €200,000.00 and the implementation period is from 01/01/2024 to 30/06/2025.
