The President of the Republic Mr Demetris Christofias, invited to comment on whether the judgement of the Court of Justice of the European Communities in the case of Apostolides vs Orams changes anything in the negotiations, said that “the negotiations are negotiations and we must not be carried away by enthusiasm and think that everything is solved as if by magic due the judgment of the Court”.
In statements last night, on the sidelines of the 90th birthday celebration of Andreas Fantis, President Christofias said that “the judgement vindicates the Republic of Cyprus”.
“As you can understand, the statement by the Government Spokesman is equivalent to a statement by the President of the Republic and I do not wish to add anything else”, he said. |
