| Presidential Elections -
17 and 24 February 2008

On the days of the two rounds of the presidential elections (17 and 24 February 2008), a Press Centre will operate at the Cyprus International Conference Centre (CICC) in Nicosia, from 7am until after the announcement of the final results.
All media representatives wishing to have access to the Press Centre and use its facilities must carry a special badge, which they can obtain from the Press and Information Office (Foreign Press section) between 11-22 February (8am-2pm). The same badge will be used on both Sundays of the elections.
Those who will not be able to collect their badge during the above period, may obtain it from the PIO desk, at the entrance of the CICC, upon presenting their press ID.
The following facilities will be available at the Press Center:
· Desktop Computers
· Internet Connection – ADSL business line, 1mbps
· Wireless Internet Connection
· Ability to connect portable computers to the network
· ISDN telephone lines for broadcasting in private booths
· Printers
· Fax machine
· Copy machine
· TV monitor
· Space for self-structured TV studios

The office of the Chief Returning Officer, Mr Lazaros Savvides, will be adjacent to the Press Centre area.
On 24 February 2008, the announcement of the President elect of the Republic will take place at the Eleftheria Stadium, Nicosia. All TV crews wishing to reserve a place on the designated TV platform to cover the event live should notify the PIO and provide their crew’s names and contact tel. numbers, by Tuesday, 19 February.
Broadcasting / Satellite
All TV stations wishing to broadcast from the CICC or elsewhere in Cyprus via satellite, are requested to fill out and submit the relevant forms which can be found at :
