|The President of the Republic held official talks
with the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait
The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, who arrived today in Kuwait for a two-day official visit, held talks with the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the members of the delegations of the two countries.
Participating in the Cyprus delegation are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ioannis Kasoulides, the Minister of Finance, Mr Harris Georgiades, and the Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Mr Yiorgos Lakkotrypis.
During the talks, the two delegations discussed a number of subjects, including issues pertaining to the bilateral cooperation on investments and the further strengthening of the political, economic and commercial bilateral relations between the two countries.
Following the talks, officials of the two countries signed a series of bilateral Agreements.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus and the Minister of Interior of Kuwait signed an Agreement for Cooperation in Fighting Terrorism, Organized Crime, Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors, Illegal Migration and Other Criminal Offences.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus and Kuwait signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
Also signed was an Agreement for a Technical Arrangement concerning the arrival and departure of citizens of the State of Kuwait and Cyprus during evacuation operations. The Arrangement was signed by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus and Kuwait.
The Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism signed an Agreement on Tourism with the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Kuwait.
An agreement on Higher Education and Science was signed by the Minister of Finance and the Acting Minister of Education, Minister of Finance and Oil of Kuwait.
In addition, an Agreement on Public Health and Medical Science was signed by the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Health of Kuwait.
Finally, an Agreement for Cooperation was signed between the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) and the Kuwaiti News Agency KUNA. The Agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Board of CNA and the Chairman of the Board of KUNA.
Earlier in the day, President Anastasiades met with the Prime Minister of Kuwait, Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
