• President addresses the UNGA on Thursday and poses eight questions to Erdogan

    Addressing the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, in New York, President Anastasiades responds to Turkey's President Erdogan’s comments with a series of eight questions, aiming to underline the legitimacy of the Greek Cypriot side’s efforts and conveys readiness to immediately resume negotiations, in accordance with the UN Secretary - General's framework and always in line with the relevant UN Resolutions.

    The Cyprus Problem was the main topic on the agenda during the seperate meetings Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr Ioannis Kasoulides, held with Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Côte d'Ivoire, on September 20, in New York. Minister Kasoulides who is attending the works of the 72nd Session of UNGA, also participated in the meetings held by the President of the Republic with the leaderships of the main American – Jewish organizations in the US.
  • President Anastasiades holds contacts in New York, on the sidelines of UNGA

    On the sidelines of the UNGA, President Anastasiades met his Egyptian counterpart, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Mauritius Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jungnauth. President Anastasiades also held separate meetings with China’s Foreign Minister, Mr Wang Yi and Russian Foreign Minister, Mr Sergey Lavrov, in addition to Greek Foreign Minister, Mr Nikos Kotzias. President’s agenda also included a short meeting with the British Prime with whom he discussed the Cyprus Problem and Brexit.

    The photographic exhibition by the Press and Information Office on “Pafos, A Work of Art” is on display until the end of September in the form of a ‘street show exhibition’, at the Pafos port seafront. The exhibition promotes the town and district of Pafos through its myths, traditions, history, religion and people and was created in collaboration with the Organisation ‘European Capital of Culture – Pafos 2017’.
