The employer's obligations towards the domestic worker are given in detail in Section 3 of the Contract of Employment.
For the primary and secondary medical care of the employee, the employer may submit one of the following:
  • a certificate of registration of the employee at GeSY and private insurance to cover the costs for the transportation of the mortal remails,
  • a health insurance certificate covering primary and secondary medical care and the transport of the mortal remains (Plan A).
During the first registration of a third-country national at the Civil Registry and Migration Department, the presentation of private insurance for inpatient and outpatient care is not required as it is covered by the State Health Services Organization (SHSO). The third-country national has the responsibility to inform the Department as soon as he is registered at GeSY.
