    Duration of residence permit
    Family members are granted a first residence permit of one year's duration. The permit is renewable and cannot be valid beyond the date of expiry of the sponsor's permit.

    Where sponsors hold an intra-corporate transfer permit or a long-term mobility permit in the context of an intra-corporate transfer issued by Cyprus, as a rule, residence permits issued to family members have the same expiry date as the intra-corporate transfer permit or the long-term mobility permit. 
    Where sponsors hold a researcher's permit or a long-term mobility researcher’s permit issued in Cyprus, as a rule, residence permits issued to family members have the same expiry date as the residence permit or long-term mobility permit of the sponsoring researcher. This includes permits granted to the researcher in order to seek employment or to do business.
    Maximum duration of stay
    Family members may reside in the Republic without a time limit, provided that the conditions of the legislation continue to be met and provided that they hold a valid residence permit.
