The Civil Defence Force organised a Conference on "The Union's Civil Protection Mechanism - Prospects for Cooperation and Funding Opportunities," at the Conference Hall of the Municipality of Strovolos, Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 9:00 to 12:00.
The theme developed successfully by Mr. Hans DAS, Head of Policy Unit for Civil Protection, Directorate "ECHO" of the European Commission for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection. Mr. DAS proceeded with extensive information on the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and explained the prospects for partnerships that can be developed through the Legislation of the European Union for Civil Protection. He also presented the current Financial opportunities for financing various programs, exercises and other activities.
Following the presentation by Mr. Hans DAS, there was a presentation by the Senior Civil Defence Officer Mr. Kyriacos Hadjigeorgiou of the various projects that were financed by the European Union and where Cyprus Civil Defence has had an involvement.
Representatives from various governmental departments, as well as staff and volunteers of the Civil Defence attended and showed great interest.
