Head of the Asylum Service
Natasa Andreou assumed the duties of the Head of the Asylum Service in July 2023.
She has been working at the Asylum Service since 2003 and has dealt with all issues related to asylum and reception procedures, such as examining asylum applications, provision of reception conditions, implementation of the Common European Asylum System (CEAS), while she represented Cyprus in EU working groups on asylum issues.
She participated in a wide range of educational programs of EUAA, UNHCR and other Organizations, concerning the examination of applications for international protection, reception of applicants for international protection, handling of cases of victims of torture, LGBTQ, FGM etc., in the context of the Asylum Procedure.
During the period 2014-2015 she was seconded at the European Asylum Agency (EUAA) as an expert of the CY Ministry of Interior, coordinating the drafting of the training module on the reception of applicants for international protection (Reception Module).
