European Funds Unit - Internal Security Fund


According to Article 10: Emergency assistance of the Regulation (EU) No 513/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the 16th April 2014 establishing, as part of the Internal Security Fund, the instrument for financial support for police cooperation, preventing and combating crime, and crisis management and repealing Council Decision 2007/125/JHA, the Instrument shall provide financial assistance to address urgent and specific needs in the event of an emergency situation, as defined in point (j) of Article 2.

According to Article 2, "emergency situation" means any security-related incident or newly emerging threat which has or may have a significant adverse impact on the security of people in one or more Member States.

Emergency assistance shall be implemented in accordance with Articles 6 and 7 of Regulation (EU) No 514/2014.
